I don’t know how you feel but for me the reduction in traffic during the school holidays is always a blessing. Our roads are never quite ‘born to be wild’ style but, at least, during the holidays you can make an appointment and feel pretty committed to arriving on time.
For us the schools holidays is a very busy time of year. Education estates want their new spaces installed by the beginning of the new term ready for students. So the logistics and supply chain of these projects needs some careful planning. It’s our behind the scenes project teams back at HQ in Rushden that take the strain. It’s their responsibility to make sure that all the furnishings and, in the case of bespoke, the manufacturing teams are timetabled to be at the right place at the right time. We are lucky to have a dedicated band of contractors, who have worked with us for many years and they pull out all the stops when timings are tight. Sometimes they are working in very difficult environments such as the 40+ degrees temperatures at a new school project in Dubai where the air conditioning wasn’t always working!
So while the roads might be quiet, somewhere in a school or college building, a learning resource centre or a library is a team of Demco Interior’s contractors silently creating the ‘WOW factor’ for staff and students when they walk in the door after the school break.
