Addis Ababa University Library
Demco Interiors designed, supplied and installed the four floors of the brand new library at Addis Ababa University setting a new standard for library infrastructure in Ethiopia.
Working with UK based Mallory International, the Demco design and project teams delivered this fantastic new library which was completed in the summer of 2017. The Demco designers project and installation managers visited Addis Ababa throughout the design and implementation stages and worked closely with local contractors during the installation process.
Demco Interiors designed and manufactured library shelving throughout the four floors with a mix of traditional, bespoke oak veneered clad shelving units, bright green and bright yellow Cantilibra steel library shelving. Oak study carrels in single, double and quadruple configurations are interspersed with study tables and chairs. The project also included a high volume of top of the range computer desking and benching with space saving pull out computer shelves.
The new library gives students the absolute best opportunities for both private and group study as well as accommodating a vast amount of stock all designed and space managed by the Demco Interiors design teams.
